First Thames is a new joint venture company set up by First Base Ltd and East Thames Group. Its purpose is to build and manage around 1,800 homes for key workers and people on a low income at Athletes Village.

First Thames will own and fund all of the affordable housing at the development. This will include homes for first time buyers, as well as homes to rent or buy through innovative low cost schemes like Homehold ™, a model First Base has already used at another regeneration project, Adelaide Wharf, in north London.

First Base Ltd is a property developer that builds and manages high quality, stylish and affordable homes in London and the southeast. Set up by Lend Lease in 2002, we’re well known for our modern, functional design. We’re also a founder member of the UK Green Building Council and are recognised for setting new standards in sustainability.

East Thames Group is the largest housing association in east London and Essex, employing more than 1,000 people. We’ve worked in Stratford and the wider Thames Gateway area since we were founded in 1979. As well as building and managing affordable properties, we also offer education, training, employment and support to help young people and people with special needs live independently in their own homes.
