  • Plus for children there'll also be a bouncy castle, face painting, arts and crafts and the opportunity to take a ride around the park on the land train.

July 2008: Have a hand in your future
Thousands of visitors flocked to Stratford Shopping Centre on Friday July 4 to meet the developers of the Athletes Village at their fun packed community event. Organised by Lend Lease, with their affordable housing partners First Base and East Thames, the event was designed to inform residents about the area?s regeneration in an entertaining and interactive way. Visit the gallery to see some of the pictures from the day.
October 2007: Masterplan Consultation

Local people were invited to view the Athletes Village ‘masterplan’ and have their say on the development at a series of events held at various locations throughout September and October 2007.

A touring exhibition visited Stratford Circus, a community centre and a local school, Carpenters Primary School.

At the close of the consultation, feedback forms were sent to the Olympic Development Authority, which has the final say on any plans.

January 2007: Lend Lease Community Day

Members of staff from Lend Lease have transformed part of the playground at Forest Gate Community School in a ‘Ground Force’ style makeover.

Pupils and teachers helped turn a disused area into landscaped playing field, complete with flower beds, bird boxes and seating.

Bovis Lend Lease contributed its diggers, time, blood, sweat and tears free of charge, and left the space along Forest Lane and Kuhn Way unrecognisable.
