We want Athletes Village to be for everyone. So Lend Lease and our partners will try to engage with as many people as possible as the development process unfolds.

Over the next four years, we’ll be working to build links with lots of different individuals and group, in lots of different ways.

But who exactly are we talking about?

Future residents, of course. But that doesn’t narrow things down much. We hope people already living in the area will want to move to Athletes Village, but future residents could also come from much further afield, so we’ll be promoting it nationally and internationally.

Another key group we want to involve is people living nearby, not just in Stratford but also in the rest of the London Borough of Newham and across the wider east London area. Because Athletes Village is not an island. It’s very much connected to the neighbourhoods around it.

So whether or not you (or your children) end up living at Athletes Village, you’ll be able to benefit from the facilities (like the new education campus, health centre and parks and playgrounds) and the opportunities it will bring.

As well as individuals, we’ll also be working closely with local groups and organisations in Stratford and other neighbouring communities – like schools and colleges, voluntary groups, businesses, clubs and associations – to let them know what’s happening with the project and find out what they think.
