Our commitment to you

Lend Lease is totally committed to opening up as many opportunities as we possibly can for people to get involved in the development of Athletes Village.

We’ve already consulted widely on our masterplan, which sets out the broad principles and aims behind the project and acts as a framework for more detailed plans going forward.

Now we’re planning a whole host of other activities, including events, for the rest of 2008 and beyond. If you’ve got any ideas about things we can do to get more people involved, please tell us – click here.

In all of this work we’ll be guided by some key principles. We’ll always be honest and open about what we are planning, what we are doing, what we can change and what we can’t. We’ll always listen to what you have to say, even if we can’t respond in the way you’d like us to. And we’ll always explain what we are doing and our reasons for doing it.

Specifically we will:

  • Make sure we consult local communities on key planning applications.
  • Attract as many people as possible to the events we organise.
  • Develop and maintain good and productive relationships with everyone who has an interest in Athletes Village.
  • Make sure local people get involved in the project, and that they know what opportunities are on offer.
  • Keep people living near the site up to date on progress with the construction work and inform them of any upcoming major developments.
  • Use the most effective, up to date techniques for consulting and engaging stakeholders.
  • Make sure all our work to consult and involve local people is tailored around your needs and expectations, so it’s easy to have your say.

Of course this website is also an important part of our commitment to getting people involved. In the coming months we’ll be launching lots of exciting new ways to have your say online – but you can start today by clicking here and telling us what you think of the site.
